What type of course is it?

This preparatory camp is an additional educational product in the APUL skiing course offer. It is organised in the scope of 3 days in Austria or 2 days in the Czech Republic. It is open to skiers over 17 years of age who have successfully completed the APUL Skiing C course (or a recognised equivalent). The preparatory camp does not end with an exam and its output is a personalised feedback and recommendations for further training by the course lecturer.

What to expect on the course?

At the preparatory camp for the APUL Skiing B course we extend, repeat and consolidate the skills and competences acquired at the APUL Skiing C course. The aim of the course is to prepare you for the most successful completion of the APUL Skiing B course. The emphasis is on all three core areas of the APUL concept and the skills associated with them. Education and learning tools, analytical skills and skiing technique. We focus on interacting with advanced skiers of all ages with an emphasis on private lessons. During the course, great emphasis is placed on personal improvement of advanced skiing technique in terms of greater speed, steeper slopes, and the eventual application of the technique to variable terrain conditions. Candidates are prepared throughout the course for a deeper understanding of the APUL technical concept and its integration with skiing skills.

What are the entry criteria?

  • Applicant must be at least 17 years old on the opening day of the course.
  • Be a holder of APUL Skiing C (or equivalent).
  • Be a member of APUL (paid membership fee).

What is the daily program? (course structure)

The course is divided into a practical part on the slope and a theoretical part in the form of lectures and workshops. The daily program will be adapted to the weather and local snow conditions. The course leader is responsible for editing the course program. Changes in the program are the responsibility of the course leader. One day of the course is reserved for final exams. Participation in all parts of the program is essential for a successful completion of the course B.
