Životopis

I first got on the slopes during a school ski trip in elementary school. Back then, I was still skiing. But since I had been skateboarding since I was little, I soon became more drawn to snowboarding. The very next season, my parents gave me my first board for Christmas. No one else in my family skis, but they have always supported me. My dad often took me to the local slopes and waited for me at the stand, freezing, until I had had my fill.

I started to enjoy snowboarding and wanted to spend as much time as possible in the mountains. So becoming an instructor was an obvious choice. Since then, I've spent every season on the snow, whether teaching or just riding. I enjoy both.

QUESTIONS FOR EDIE

What kind of terrain do you enjoy riding the most? And do you also ski?

Lately, I've been focusing more on backcountry, but I enjoy spending sunny days in the park or just cruize around at the resort. I mainly snowboard, but I also teach skiing.

Can you ride with a clear head, or do you constantly check and correct yourself?

When I'm learning and driving in uniform, I tend to control myself, but on my day off, I can relax.

What would you recommend to someone who is just considering working as an instructor in the mountains?

Give it a try, it's fun!

How did you prepare for Course A? And how did you cope with the stress before the exams on the course?

I rode a lot, mainly on a switch. Snowboard courses usually have a relaxed atmosphere. After my first ride, the stress usually goes away.

What do you think is key when teaching beginners?

With beginners, I always try to help them develop a positive attitude toward snowboarding. Above all, it has to be fun.
